The Seven of Crystals showed up for this week’s forecast. While I often see this as a card of crossroads, some interpretations connect it to failure and futility.
There can be a sense of doing the same thing over and over again and getting…well, the same results over and over again. Hence, the connection to failure – especially if those results aren’t what you’re hoping for.
There can be comfort here. There can even be a sense that everything is status quo: When things are familiar, they are easy. Unfortunately, familiarity can keep us complacent. It can rob us of the motivation to change a situation no matter how bored, unhappy, or unhealthy we feel by staying within it.
This is why, though, I connect the Seven of Crystals to the theme of crossroads: Because whenever we recognize that a change needs to take place, we stand between two paths. One is the road we already know, and one is the unknown that we can begin to follow if we choose.
But crossroads aren’t places we necessarily rush through. Instead, we can end up standing with one foot in and one foot out for a long, long time.
Is that hesitation necessary with the Seven of Crystals, though? Not at all. This is a card rooted in the element of earth: It reminds us that we already have a solid foundation to work from. We have already come so far. And new foundations will be found on that new path, should we choose to take it.
So this week’s energy begins with solid ground. There is something to stand on, despite the possibility of change in the air.
Keep that in mind as we head into the weekend, when Chiron retrograde begins on July 1.
Chiron is an asteroid that is known as the Wounded Healer. In astrology, we look to Chiron to see where our hurt and healing is throughout a lifetime. Chiron can bring big lessons – sometimes very painful ones – that at times cut deep but it can also teach us about our own capacity to help others.
Chiron retrograde offers us a time to heal old wounds. Be prepared that some really deep stuff can come up during this retrograde, which will last until December 5, 2017. You might be surprised at how far back into your history this can go – if you have previous hurts that you are still carrying around.
There is so much opportunity for inner work and healing this season, with Neptune and Pluto retrogrades in effect already. With Chiron retrograde, too, immense personal progress can be made – though remember that changes you make within will often end up as actions that alter the life you currently know.
So keep the Seven of Crystals in mind as we move forward. Remember that any crossroads you encounter is coming from a grounded, solid place. Remember that you have already come this far, and that it may not be sustainable for you to continue to keep one foot in the old and one in the new.
Remember, too, that this isn’t a time to keep repeating the same patterns over and over again. If something from the past rears its head, the months ahead may be your chance to move on from it once and for all.
Here is a mantra for you to work with throughout the week:
I set the intention to explore any healing that needs to take place.
