Ready for the Spring Equinox? Here’s how you can welcome the new season

Page of CupsI don’t know about you, but I have a good feeling about this spring.

Spring is one of my favourite times of year, but this one feels extra juicy. The Spring Equinox takes place on Sunday, March 20 with the Moon in Leo. This Moon will be all about self-expression, generosity, self-esteem, and confidence.

If you are looking to invite or enhance any of those qualities within yourself, the first day of spring offers an ideal gateway for doing so.

Here are some of my tips on how to welcome in the first day of spring and set yourself up for the season to come:

Follow the Moon

There’s a Full Moon in Libra coming up on March 23, which I’ll talk more about in the coming days, but as we get closer to the Spring Equinox, It can be helpful to take note of what was taking place in your life back in October 2015.

This Full Moon will correspond to whatever might have been initiated at that time, and it can help you determine any personal spring cleaning you might want to do when it comes to bringing in more balance and harmony into your life.

Out with the old

Spring cleaning your home and work space can do a lot to help shift the energy around you and make room for the new. Donate any clothes you’re not wearing any more, dust out the corners, burn some incense or sage if you have some, and open the windows to let the fresh air blow through.

You can even set an intention as you do clean up. Show your gratitude for what you’re clearing away, and invite something new to take its place, such as happiness, prosperity, peace, or whatever is you are ready to welcome in.

Here’s an intention you can use if it helps:

As I say goodbye to what I no longer need, I offer my thanks for all that has entered my life. Now, I prepare to welcome new hope, prosperity, and abundance in all forms this spring season.

Keep shifting that energy

If you have any stones or crystals, or an altar space, this is a great to rearrange them or dust them off.

You can also put your stones in a plant overnight if you want to recharge them and give them some spring renewal.

Clear off any old incense ash, wax, dust, or anything else that’s accumulated on your altar space or other special spot in your home.

Do a digital detox

I’m running a free Spring Equinox Digital Detox starting on Sunday, March 20.

It’s free to sign up, and every participant receives a meditation I created specifically for the Spring Equinox, along with daily worksheets throughout the week.

I call it a challenge because I do want you to challenge yourself in it, and there are prizes at the end. (Yay!)

But it’s also like a mini-course. It was made to help you reconnect with yourself, help eliminate stress, and help you break away from any tech habits that are taking time away from doing the things that are most important to you.
