What really fuels you in this lifetime?
I know it might sound like a cliché to open with that question. There are so many spiritual, motivational and self-help blogs out there that encourage you to get to the core of your truth, to name your mission, or to align with your purpose.
If you’ve been avoiding the question of what moves you, what motivates you, what you feel is your reason for being here…this week invites you to open to the answers that await you.
There can be a lot of reasons to skirt the question of what your mission or raison d’être may be: Maybe you don’t feel there is a mission for you in this lifetime.
Maybe you’re not sure what to look for, or how to define it.
Maybe you are you already clear on who you are and what you’re here to do, and so you don’t spend much time thinking about it.
Your relationship to your path and purpose can change over time. There can be years where you feel completely aligned and engaged with what you’re doing and where you’re going.
And there can be years where you question yourself, doubt your journey, or realize you’ve completed the mission you were on – and so it’s time to begin another. Sometimes, it takes a while to figure out what the next chapter is.
One of the most common mistakes I see people making when it comes to feeling connected to their life’s purpose is that it gets confused as a career.
Sometimes your mission can become your day job, but it helps to see that your reason for being here can extend well beyond what goes on your resume.
In other words: They are not always one and the same.
What feels important to you right now?
What truth have you embraced this year?
What do you want to help others to see, know, or understand?
Your mission can be found in the examples you set for the people around you.
Your mission can be in your ability to act with integrity, take responsibility, or exercise forgiveness.
Your mission can come in the form of a creative talent, or in the shape of your relationships.
There are no rules or boundaries to abide by when defining your truth, naming it, or living it.
Today, Mercury enters Sagittarius at 4:42 am EST. The messenger planet is in the sign of the teacher, seeker, and philosopher. For these next few weeks, you will be encouraged to review your sense of mission in this world.
Re-write it for the New Year if you need to. Or take a vow to live your mission even more fully in 2020 if the path you are still rings deep and true for you.
This Thursday, December 12 brings the Full Moon in Gemini at 12:12 am EST. The Gemini Full Moon illuminates the story you need to tell.
This is a powerful lunation for writers, public speakers, and communicators, but at the end of the day, we are all communicators, aren’t we? We all rely on the need to share, talk, and connect.
Full moons can close chapters and act as culmination points, and so friendships and other connections that have run their course may come to a natural conclusion at this time. Sometimes we reach a point where we realize the people we once shared commonalities with are no longer sharing the same plotlines.
If you are realizing that it’s time to take a relationship or social circle in a new direction once 2020 comes around, be open to that as a truth that is ready to be told.
Like the Hermit card (featured here from the Cosmic Tarot), you are encouraged this week to look inward and listen to yourself as you explore the question of what you need to be doing and where you need to be going at this point in time.
Here is a tarot spread to help you work through this week’s energies:
- What is my mission at this time?
- What truth is it time for me to tell?
- What story is coming to a close?
- What do I need to hear within myself?
Until next time,
p.s. You will notice that my work revolves a lot around the cycles of the Moon. I believe the Moon is one of our most important time-keepers. Every month, the lunar cycles help you to understand what to focus on, and where to let go.
If you are tired of going around in circles, doing the same things over and over without results, or you feel misaligned with your path and want to live with more purpose and intention, my Moon Magick course was made for you.
This self-study program will help you tap into the Moon’s energies to help you bring your intentions to life.
Buy it for yourself, or as a holiday gift. Learn more about the program here.
