Tarot for Beginners: Registration is now OPEN!

Me“I’m so glad that I took your classes. I have been really working on shifting some things in my life, and tarot has been a surprisingly helpful tool for me.”
Monica, Reiki practitioner and healer

Learning how to read tarot can be one of the most significant decisions you make.

Tarot is a powerful tool that helps you to strengthen your intuition. It deepens your self-awareness, which in turns deepens your connection to the world around you. Tarot gives you the power to trust yourself more, make clearer decisions, and welcome new awakenings and insights that can change the course of your life.

But it takes time to get there. Learning how to read tarot is a process. Whether you’ve just purchased your first tarot deck, or you’ve been at it for a little while already, tarot can feel overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating in the early days.

There are so many different cards, spreads, and techniques to learn. There are so many different websites, books, and experts out there, it can be hard to know where to turn and who to listen to.

If you’re looking for a tarot course that will give you a solid foundation, I hope you’ll join me this fall.

Tarot for Beginners is a 9-week online course that will give you everything you need to start reading tarot cards with confidence. You’ll be given tips and techniques to connect to your intuition, practical lessons on the Major and Minor Arcana, tarot spreads, and more.

Throughout these lessons, I will also be showing you exactly how I read tarot cards, so you’ll be given a lot of hands-on, practical examples that you can put into practice yourself.

Class details:

Every Wednesday, from September 20, 2017 – November 15, 2017
7:30 pm EST
Online
Price $375

(All classes will be recorded. If you aren’t able to attend those dates or times, you will still receive the lessons to catch up on your own time.)

Here’s what we’ll cover in each class:

Week One – The Basics:

Learn the origins of tarot, as well as myths and misconceptions to avoid. Understanding tarot’s history is one of the most important parts of anyone’s tarot journey. You will also learn some simple, effective techniques to help you start creating intuitive connections to the cards.

Week Two – The Major Arcana, Part One:

This week, we’ll dive into the Major Arcana, from the Fool to the Emperor. I’ll show you how to start interpreting these Major Arcana cards in a reading. You will also receive a special guided meditation after class to help you build your intuitive connection to the tarot.

Week Three – The Major Arcana, Part Two:

This week, we’ll continue to work with the Major Arcana, from the Hierophant to the Wheel of Fortune. We’ll do a sample reading to put the lessons into practice, and you’ll receive some extra tips on building your intuition.

Week Four – The Major Arcana, Part Three:

This week, we’ll start to look at some of tarot’s most notorious cards, including Death and the Devil, as we continue to study each of the Majors. You will learn how to interpret cards from Justice to the Devil, and we’ll do a sample reading to put your lessons into practice.

Week Five – The Major Arcana, Part Four:

This week, we reach the end of our Major Arcana lessons, looking at everything from the Tower to the World. You will learn how to interpret tarot’s highest cards, and we’ll do a sample reading to bring it all together.

Week Six – The Court Cards:

The Court Cards are some of the hardest tarot cards to learn. But I promise that you can learn to love them. This lesson will teach you how to interpret the courts in a way that will bring clarity and confidence to your work with these cards. We’ll also look at how the courts can help to answer yes or no questions, and you’ll leave with a tarot spread to help deepen your connection to these cards.

Week Seven – The Minor Arcana, Part One:

This week, we dive deeper into the Minor Arcana by looking at suits of Wands and Swords. You will be given in-depth lessons for these suits that will help you better understand each of these cards, their elements, and what they mean in a reading.

Week Eight – The Minor Arcana, Part Two:

This week, we continue to study the Minor Arcana with an in-depth look at the suits of Pentacles and Cups. You will be given insights into these suits that will help you better understand each of these cards, their elements, and what they mean in a reading.

Week Nine – Reading Techniques and Tarot Spreads:

This is where it all comes together! Here, you’ll learn how to work with – and without – tarot spreads; get tips on how to go beyond the basic card meanings to really see what the cards are telling you; how to trust your intuition as a tarot reader, and more.

“Simply put, Liz is a great teacher.  As a beginner to tarot I was looking for someone who could skilfully introduce me to all the tarot has to offer and Liz did, and continues to do that with ease, warmth and understanding.”
Stuart, South Wales

What kind of deck should you use for this class?

For beginners, I recommend starting with classic decks like:

Rider-Waite-Smith
Sharman-Caselli Tarot
Universal Tarot
Morgan-Greer Tarot

I use the Sharman-Caselli Tarot. This is the deck you will see most often throughout the course materials. It is not mandatory to use this deck or any other, however. You might be drawn to a completely different deck than any of these, and that’s okay.

About me

I’ve been working with tarot for almost 10 years. I started learning in 2008 and my life has never been the Likely General 2017 Val Sankar 4 - Copy (2)same.

Since then, I’ve taught many people how to read tarot. I’ve also written a book about it. Tarot reader and author Benebell Wen called Going Beyond the Little White Book: A Contemporary Guide to Tarot, “One of the best and most readable Tarot 101 books I’ve come across.”

I have seen tarot change people’s lives, both through the information it offers in readings, and through the power of learning how to read the cards.

I don’t believe there is a wrong way to read tarot, and I don’t believe anyone has to have a special “gift” to do it. In fact, I think everyone can learn tarot, and that this is truly a tool that we can all use.

Tarot helps you get back to who you are. It teaches you how to look within for the answers and wisdom you need.

Once you start working with it, it will change you in unexpected, profound ways. Be ready for it, stay open to it, and answer the call if it’s inviting you in.
