Tarot for Magic, Spell Craft, and the Strange 2026

A 5-week course to expand your tarot practice through magic and experimentation.

March 2 - March 30, 2026

Registration is now open.

 Are you ready to bring more magic, mystery and
experimentation into your tarot practice?

Tarot can be used for so much more than asking, “What should I focus on today?” or “What do I need to know right now?”

This season, I invite you to join me on a new tarot adventure where we’ll use tarot to craft spells, connect with spirits, and expand your practice through experimentation.

Grow your tarot confidence with the cards by learning how to:

• Use tarot to create your own rituals and spells;
• Use tarot for mediumship and spirit communication;
• Use tarot to create or enhance your spiritual and magical practices.

Tarot for Magic, Spell Craft and the Strange is a five-week course where you will immerse yourself in hands-on trainings that will help you to grow your tarot skills by exploring tarot as a gateway for magic and inspiration.

We will engage with unusual ideas while staying grounded here on earth, so that you can share what you learn here with your querents and community.

Here is what we’ll cover each week:

Lesson One: Tarot for Spell Writing. Create spells and rituals from your tarot readings so that you can create your own spells and magical practices, or offer helpful rituals to your querents.

Lesson Two: Tarot for Mediumship. Learn how to communicate with the dead through practical divination using tarot. These foundational techniques are ideal for anyone who has trouble meditating and wants to rely on a visual tool for spirit communication instead. Learn a new approach to tarot that you can use in your personal or professional tarot practice.

Lesson Three: Tarot for Tutelary Spirits. Building off of our lesson on mediumship, we’ll continue to explore spirit communication in this lesson. Here will you learn how to access the support of a tutelary spirit companion to support you on your path as a diviner.

Lesson Four: Reading on the Strange. This lesson is an experimentation in reading the world around us. You will learn how to use tarot to divine information about special objects, places, and things. Develop your senses for the spaces you inhabit by learning how tarot can help you communicate with the mundane world.

Lesson Five: Tarot to Open Doors. Our final lesson will teach you how to use tarot to remove blockages and open opportunities in your life. Add these techniques to your tarot toolbox to use with your querents whenever someone asks, "I feel stuck - can you help me?"

Course FAQs

How long is each lesson?

Lessons will run for about 60 minutes each. Some concepts need more time than others, and some lessons may generate more discussion among students. There may be sessions that run longer than one hour, but I aim to get the bulk of the teaching done within 60 minutes for this course.

I took this class last year. Will the material be different this time?

I am not updating the material or exercises for this round. If you are interested in retaking the course for a refresher, email me at [email protected] to inquire about an alumni discount.

Will this course be offered again this year?

I am not planning to run this again until 2027.

Which deck is used throughout the course?

I teach using the Rider Waite Smith deck. It is strongly recommended you use a RWS deck for the purpose of this course to mirror the images we are seeing.

I consider myself a beginner with tarot, but I'm very interested in this course. Will it be too advanced?

This course is designed for readers of all levels to benefit from the concepts and activities. This is an experimental tarot course, so it is not designed to fit with the standard approaches to tarot. If you are willing to learn, take risks, and try new things, you'll be a good fit for this class. An open mind is all you need, and I will be available to help you along the way.

I won't be able to make the live sessions. Will I miss a lot?

Sometimes schedules and time zones don't work out. That's why I record all sessions, and you can revisit them as often as you want to. If you are comfortable working asynchronously, you can contribute with questions and receive feedback on your homework in the course's private Facebook group.

"Liz is an amazing teacher and offers all the support one could need, the insight into your progress, and encouragement that every student needs."
